About Silica Alumina Gel

Silica Alumina Gel is a selective desiccant made up of a mixture of silicon dioxide (SiO) and aluminum oxide (AlO). The mixture provides improved performance features, especially under high humidity and high-temperature conditions. It differs from conventional silica gel in that it has greater thermal as well as chemical stability, qualifying for more demanding industrial uses.

Usually sold as white or yellowish granules or beads, silica alumina gel has high surface area and good moisture adsorbing capacity from gases and liquids. Compressed air dryers, gas drying systems, petrochemical processing, and refrigeration units are some common applications of it. Alumina present in the gel improves its resistance to hydrothermal aging and also decreases pore collapse tendency during regeneration.
